Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is his initial trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.
Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
